HAND COLORING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS
December 2, 2017

This workshop will explore the use of pastels to create a turn of the century look, changing your photograph to a mixed media piece of art. You will learn the various ways to apply pastels onto cold and hot press paper while working on Barbara's pre-printed images. Selecting one of your photos, you will use the information to work on your own image. What a great gift to offer friends or family! The day includes lite fare luncheon.

PHOTOGRAPHING THE WINTER GARDEN
March 10 - 11, 2018
10am - 4pm
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
1800 Lakeside Avenue
Richmond, VA 20228
If you have never photographed this garden at the end of winter, this is your chance. Barbara will guide you through the garden, examining the unusual plant forms - some in their dormant state while others are starting to emerge. You will create images using the lines and curves of the plants, to accentuate movement and flow while recording the contrast of the two seasons.
Converting your files to black and white, you will select an image to "put the color back in" through the use of pastel pencils.
This class includes a critique of your images and discussion how they could be best presented in the printed form.
Registration for this class will start January, 2018.
